Adlabs Cinemas, the entity of Reliance group owned by Anil Dhirubhai Ambani, is planning to come up with a huge investment in Chhattisgarh by developing multiplexes in different cities of the state. Top sources in the state government told Business Standard that the company was working on a proposal to come up with an investment of about Rs 1 billion in Chhattisgarh to develop 4-screen multiplexes at Raipur, Bhilai, Bilaspur, Korba, Raigarh, Ambikapur and Rajnandgaon.

Opposition Congress party members staged a walk out from the Chhattisgarh assembly Monday to protest what they called as the government showing favours to the Jindal Steel and Power Limited (JSPL) in the allotment of coalmines in the state. Leader of Opposition Mahendra Karma moved a call attention notice and alleged that the government held the public hearing for the environment clearance of the coalmines in Raigarh district Jan 5 in the absence of villagers, who were not even informed.

MUMBAI: Inox Leisure Ltd has commenced operations at Raipur with a four-screen multiplex housing 1280 seats. According to an official release, this is the first multiplex in the state of Chhattisgarh and the seventeenth property in the Inox chain of cinemas. It will screen a mix of Hindi, English and regional films. The release states that each auditorium features wall-to-wall stadium-style seating and is also equipped with reclining seats and cup-holder armrests. The auditoriums are equipped with the state-of-the-art projection and acoustic systems.
